- Please confirm with your HR department that you are listed in the employee database.
- Obtain UCLA Logon ID and password if you do not already have one: https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu/register.

UCLA faculty members must request webIRB accounts for UCLA students and other researchers who do not meet UCLA Policy 900 PI Eligibility requirements.
This includes graduate students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, UCLA staff, Visiting Scholars etc. Investigators must know his/her UCLA Logon ID and password to access webIRB.

The faculty sponsor/advisor must email the Step 1 information to webIRBHelp@research.ucla.edu to request the account.
Volunteers most likely do not require individual accounts and can usually be described in the application as a group of people. Volunteers can be described as a class of personnel in the application and any volunteers used in research conducted within the Health System should coordinate with the Volunteer Services Office and follow guidelines for volunteers at the following link: https://www.uclahealth.org/Volunteer/volunteer-guidelines
For Users Not Affiliated with UCLA:
- Please have the PI or Faculty collaborator contact webIRBHelp@research.ucla.edu with an explanation of the personnel’s role in the project, institutional affiliation, and justification as to why they require access to webIRB for these duties. Please note that it should be rare that personnel unaffiliated with UCLA would require system access and additional information may be requested to assess this request and determine whether any reliance agreements or other permissions may need to be established.
- Once permission from UCLA OHRPP has been granted, please obtain UCLA Login ID and password by contacting https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu/register and provide the following information to webIRBHelp@research.ucla.edu, copying in the UCLA faculty collaborator:
- Your UCLA Logon ID - (Verify your UCLA Logon ID here: https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu/lookup)
- Your UCLA UID# (9 digit #, optional)
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Brief explanation of role in UCLA research and justification as to why the individual requires access to webIRB as part of their duties.
